Janice Todaro Obituary

Janice “Jan” Hazel Todaro passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at age 89. Jan was born in London, England on Oct. 31, 1935, to Alfred and Vera Glazebrook. On May 5, 1956, she married Charles “Chuck” Todaro, an Army soldier, in England, before moving to the United States where they had three children in Jackson, Michigan. After a move to Phoenix, Arizona the family returned to Jackson and eventually opened Chuck’s Supply Inc., where they worked until their retirement. During retirement, they spent winters in Orange Beach, Alabama.

Jan is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Chuck, grandson Stevie Todaro, and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Todaro.

After Chuck’s passing, Jan remained fiercely independent, driving, shopping, and going to lunch with friends. She regularly attended mass at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church. A lifelong dog lover, Jan also continued to care for their dogs, including their beloved rescue chihuahua “Chi-Chi.”

Jan is survived by her children, Mark (Sunny Booker) Todaro, Bettinna (Eugen) Steiner and Richard (Jodie) Todaro. Along with grandchildren, Erica (Dan) Powers, Daniel (Edna Seguinot) Todaro, Timothy Pillsbury, Elise (Jordon) Filbrandt, Michael (Lauren) Todaro, Anthony (Samantha) Todaro and great-grandchildren, Syeirra Todaro, Connor Powers, Rosalia Todaro, Leo Filbrandt, Matteo Filbrandt, Luciana Todaro and Theo Filbrandt. Also, her brother Keith (Christine) Glazebrook and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to her dear neighbors Susie and Gary Watters, Phyliss and Bill Cummings, Anne Cunningham and Lois Bothin, who were a great support to her.

A celebration of her life is scheduled on May 5, 2025, with Father Tim MacDonald officiating. The visitation period will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a service to be held at 12:00 p.m. at Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson, Michigan. Interment will take place at St. Johns Cemetery.
