Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother gained her eternal wings on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Born September 7, 1938 in Green City, Missouri the daughter of Marvin L. and Edith H. Dixon.
Janice was part-owner, along with her husband, and secretary for Vermeer Sales and Service in Jackson, MI for over 30 years. Later she continued on a secretary for The Salesmen. She was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, MI. She was skilled at sewing and sewed clothes for her daughters for many years. She enjoyed reading, riding her motorcycle and snowmobile, owning and riding horses, and boating on Lake Michigan, and flying planes with her husband to numerous destinations. She loved traveling and taking cruises. She was very artistic, enjoying painting. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at Jackson Crouch Senior Center in Jackson. Most of all, she loved her family and many friends.
Surviving are her 2 daughters, Pamela (Jim) Clelland-Jilbert, and Deborah (Larry) Kloostra-Meltzer; 5 grandchildren, Mitchell (Megan) Clelland, Lyndsey (Kyle) Mantecon, Alexis Jilbert, Brookelynn (Richard) Washington, and Hannah Meltzer; 7 great-grandchildren, Everly Clelland, Hudson Clelland, Maximus Mantecon, Ryker Mantecon, Griffin Mantecon, Daphne Washington, and Ellis Washington; brother, Dale (Kristi) Dixon; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Gerald Kloostra in April 2024; her parents; sister, Phyllis Smith; and brother, Keith Dixon; niece, Connie J. States; nephew, Shawn Dixon
The Celebration of Janice’s Life will be a private family event with interment at the First Presbyterian Church.
