Janice L Baum

Janice Lee (Christner) Baum, age 90, of Springport Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 21st, 2025, and went to be with her Lord and Savior and was reunited with all her loved ones in Heaven.

Janice was born on December 26th,1934 in Jackson Michigan, the daughter of George Irvin and Lillian Ruth Christner. She graduated from Springport High School in1952 and enrolled in the W.A. Foote Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to graduation in 1955, she married the love of her life Floyd Baum on February 12th , 1955, and enjoyed 47 years of marriage, until Floyd’s passing on December 26th , 2002. She began her career of 33 years as a Registered Nurse at the Eaton Rapids Community Hospital and ended her career at Eaton Rapids Medical Clinic working with her favorite Dr. Eber Sherman.

Janice loved her God and her family. Her enjoyment was any family gathering and she instilled the importance of this in her children. Another quality instilled by Janice was to show love and care for others, especially in their times of trouble. Whether it was stopping by a neighbor’s home aiding in their health care, or providing lodging, or financial support, or just being a listening ear. Janice was a lifelong member of Cornerstone Christian Church in which she served as a parish nurse for several years.

Janice is survived by her children, Dale (Joanne) Baum, Larry (Becky) Baum, Robert (Lori) Baum, and Marsha (Eric) Marshall, 7 grandchildren: Brandon (Jamie) Baum, Mindy (Phillip) McLellan, Erik (Amy) Baum, Aaron (Lindsey) Baum, Lauren (Paul) Manglona, Hannah (Keith) Nebelung, Ethan (Renee) Marshall and 15 great-

grandchildren. Janice was preceded in death by her parents: George and Lilian Ruth Christner: her husband Floyd J. Baum; infant brother Glen Leroy Christner; sister Shirley Wilcox; brother Paul Christner; sister-in-law Gayle Christner; brother-in-law Don Wilcox; grandson Garrett Marshall and daughter-in-law Becky Baum. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2025. Visitation and service are being held at CORNERSTONE CHRISTIAN CHURCH 2395 W. High Street, Jackson, Michigan, Michael D. Mason officiating; Visitation begins at 11:00 A.M. with the service to follow at noon.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Christian Church, Springport Sports Boosters, Humane Society or a Charity of your choice. Floral deliveries should be made to Cornerstone Christian Church on Saturday Morning.
