James Alan and Patricia Yvonne Hildreth

Of Jackson, MI. Jim passed peacefully on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Pat Hildreth who passed peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the age of 86.

Jim was the son of Dr. G.S. and Verna Hildreth, born November 9, 1933 in Akron, OH. Pat was the daughter of Dutch and Wilma Prulhiere, born March 15, 1934 in Clinton, IN. They are survived by their four children, John (Sheryl) Hildreth, Ginny (Suzanne Kammerer) Ashonosheni, David (Laurie) Hildreth, and Brian (Linda) Hildreth, seven grandchildren and their spouses, seven great-grandchildren, five siblings and their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was a CPA in Jackson for many decades until his retirement at the age of 83. He was a graduate of Akron University and General Motors Institute. He was a co-founder and co-owner of Lusebrink, Hildreth & Co. CPA firm. He enjoyed coaching his sons’ little league teams, working on cars, and in his younger years he enjoyed drag racing. He had a long standing passion for bowling and golf, playing on many teams and in many tournaments.  

Pat was the founder and former owner of Jackson Small Business Services. She was a graduate of Jackson Community College and Michigan State University. She was active in Girl Scouts and the Jackson Interfaith Shelter for most of her life. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed sewing, cooking, golf and being a Girl Scout leader. In her 60’s she finally had time to pursue her lifelong passion of being an artist and she became a prolific painter. She had a long standing passion for baseball and bowling, playing on many teams and in quite a few tournaments.

A memorial service for Jim and Pat will be held at Cornerstone Christian Church 2395 W. High St. in Jackson on Friday, December 17, 2021. Visitation begins at 10am, service begins at 11am. A private internment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson Interfaith Shelter, 414 S. Blackstone St., Jackson, MI 49201.
