James William Wardius of Springport, MI passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 18th 2022 at the age of 64 years. Jim will be greatly missed by his wife of 42 years, Laurie, two sons William and Christopher (Sona), daughter Alexis, two grandchildren Kaiyan and Raiya, along with countless other friends and family. He was the son of Helen and Paul Wardius and graduated from Lumen Christi in 1976.
Jim was a 4th generation farmer whose passion for agriculture led to his involvement in many different side hustles. Jim was always involved with local agricultural and government organizations. He enjoyed camping, reading, and music of all kinds including his Sunday morning Polka. He loved anything that involved his children and grandchildren. Jim’s generosity, patience and sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 12:00pm with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lumen Christi High School or Springport FFA.
The family will receive friends at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 4:00-7:00pm and at the church on Saturday for the Mass.
