Of Jackson, MI passed away at home on Friday, August 27, 2021 at the age of 85. He was the son of Russell and Lillian Rose, born July 22, 1936 in Jackson, MI. James is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Alice J. Rose; two daughters, Judy (David) Flanders, and Pamela (Carl) Austin; four grandchildren, Carrie (Joe) Katz, Brian (Stacie) Austin, Jeffrey (Bridgett) Flanders, and Robert Flanders and his fiance, Samantha Hartman; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandson, John Austin; and his parents. James was a graduate of Jackson High School. He worked for many years of service at Commonwealth Associates. James was an avid collector and was a member of the Fenton Art Glass Collectors of America and National Fenton Glass Society. He loved to spend time with his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 1:30pm with Reverend Charles Krueger officiating. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation and Residential Hospice.
