James Robert Hong passed away unexpectedly September 7, 2024. Jim was born September 13, 1965 in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Jackson when he was six years old. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1984 and attended Jackson Community College. He is survived by his loving parents, James and Marian Hong, brother Bob (Melissa), sons Jacob and Jonathan and fiancé Emily Goldshetyn. He was predeceased by his brother Michael.
Jim was a computer prodigy, entrepreneur, and pioneer in the early-internet era. His quest for knowledge led him to become a recognized expert in the field of wireless technology. Jim was currently employed by Aviat Networks as Director of Wireless Broadband Solutions. He recently completed a volunteer mission driving a convoy of life-saving trucks from Estonia through Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to Kiev, Ukraine. Jim was passionate about helping those affected by the ongoing war and ensuring wounded soldiers could return home safely.
A private memorial service will be held on September 13 and a Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a future date.
