Of Concord, passed away unexpectedly September 23, 2020, age 80 years. Preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Lois Irene. Survived by daughter Sarah (Dale) Dane-Riske of Hanover. A granddaughter Carrie (Bill) Winans of Concord, and three great grandchildren, Zachary (Hannah Greenberg) Winans of Hanover, Chloe and Byron Winans of Concord. In his free time Jim played golf, darts, pool, and euchre. Jim was well known for his generosity and work ethic. If you ever met him you knew he was willing to share whatever it was he had. Jim enjoyed working so much that he retired only to go to work for another 15 years at Midstate Oil Tools. Jim could cook the best catfish for miles around. He had a passion for Miller Lite and pretty ladies. More than one local waitress has heard a few of his famous lines, like “how’d you get so pretty?” or “you sure are a good cook!”
Jim was a member of F.O.E., Lake Aerie 3761 since 1977. During that time he held the office of president for multiple terms. He served three years in the Army, from 1958 to 1961.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held October 24, from 2 to 5 at the Red Fox Sportsmens Club 6126 E. Mosherville Rd, Jonesville, MI 49250.
