Jacqueline Jeane Avery of Spring Arbor, Michigan, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving family.
Jacqueline was born was born in Moline Illinois on June 18, 1932 to her parents Leroy and Freda Drinkwine. She is survived by her husband, Phillip Avery; her children, Mark (Karen) Beers; Shelly (Steve) Stilson; Lafayette Beers; Amy (Kevin) Vian; her wonderful sister Diane (Harry) Stevens-Riedale; and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Kevin Beers; Parents Leroy and Frida Drinkwine; Stepchildren Scott and Robin; two brothers, Jim and Bob Drinkwine; and her sister Betty Evans.
Jacqueline graduated from Vandercook High School, where she was a cheerleader. She retired from Kroger, where she worked as a cashier for 35 plus years. She was an avid golfer and bowler. She also loved to fish, garden, and watch her birds. She liked traveling up north where she rode trails on her four-wheeler and searched for morel mushrooms. Everyone will remember Jacqueline as being a very attentive and loving woman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Watson Funeral Chapel - 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson. A celebration of Jacqueline’s life will be held at Vandercook Baptist Church, 703 E. McDevitt Ave, Jackson, Michigan, on Friday, June 13 with visitation from 11:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm with Pastor Kyle Vegter officiating. A private burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park with a luncheon to follow at the church.
