Ivan Earl Zenz

Ivan Earl Zenz, born on August 27, 1931, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, at the age of 93. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ivan leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a life well-lived.

Ivan proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Machinery Repairman. Following his military service, he pursued a career at Aeroquip, where he retired as a Production Engineer. Known for his hard work and dedication, Ivan carried his strong work ethic into every aspect of his life.

An avid outdoorsman, Ivan found joy in fishing, hunting, and woodworking, often sharing these passions with family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and cherished spending time with his loved ones.

Ivan is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Janet Irene Zenz. Together, they built a family that includes their children: Deborah (Kevin Weaver, Friend) Johnson, Richard I. (Theresa) Zenz, and Peggy (John) Crowley. He was the proud grandfather of, Stephanie (Kelly) Barnett, Melissa (Scott) Bristow, Bradley (Julia) Zenz, Kellie (Luis) Medina, Christopher (Courtney) Zenz, Benjamin Crowley, and Heidi (Lee) Vickers. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren: Mahlon and Zelda Barnett; Emelina and Issac Zenz; Sam and Stella Bristow; Nathan Seldomridge Jr.; and Madison Mangiaruga.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mable Zenz, as well as his grandson, Nathan Seldomridge.

Ivan’s kindness and love for his family will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life will be celebrated and remembered with gratitude for the joy he brought to so many.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Jackson, MI on Wednesday, November 20th for the service at 2:00pm with a luncheon to follow. Visitation will be held beginning at 1:00pm until the time of the service.
