Helen Cain Obituary

Helen (Blue) Cain, age 83, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday August 18, 2020 following an extended illness. Helen was born and raised in Kalamazoo Michigan the daughter of Ed and Iva Blue. Stanley, her husband of 55 years preceded her passing in 2016. She is survived by her sons Steven (Margaret), Bruce (Terri), Douglas (Ellis), and 7 grandchildren.

Helen graduated from Greenville College and married Stan Cain in 1960. They settled in the Jackson area where Helen taught elementary school in the Western school district until her retirement in 1989. After retirement, she and Stan traveled the country eventually settling in Haines City Florida where they remained till 2009, when they relocated to Traverse City to be closer to family.

As a teacher, Helen leaves a legacy in the lives of her students through her wit and enthusiasm for learning. As a wife and mother she leaves a legacy of warmth and caring. As a friend and neighbor she leaves a legacy of hope and optimism.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2021.
