80, of Jackson, MI went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. He was born January 28, 1938 in Jackson, MI. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary; four children, Deborah (Patrick) Hein, Robert Henley, Douglas Henley, and Teresa (Jason) Dukes; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Bonnie) Henley, Douglas Henley Jr., Brent (Brandy) Cochrane, Robert Henley Jr., Michael Henley, Kara Dukes, and Emma Dukes; three great-grandchildren, Chester Haskell Cochrane, Avery Henley, and Ellia Clouse; and brother, Ronald Henley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Haskell and Rachel Henley; and sister, Marilyn Seller. Bob was a graduate of East Jackson High School Class of 1956. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy for eight years. Bob worked for Chrysler Proving Grounds where he retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Bob liked fast things, including cars, speed boats, and motorcycles, and was known as “Mr. Fix-It” to many. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 12:00pm at Sycamore Baptist Church, 142 Sycamore St., Jackson, MI 49202; Pastor Terry Boyd officiating. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice or Sycamore Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm.
