97, from Spring Arbor, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord Monday, November 23, 2020. ‘Gwen’ was the daughter of Floyd and Hazel Fulford. She was born on September 30, 1923 in Jackson, Michigan, where she lived the majority of her life. Gwen is survived by her sister, Dorothy Drake, nieces Michelle Drake Hoff and Tamia Drake Rynning and nephew, Brent Drake, along with numerous great-nieces and nephews, and cousins: Maxine Cline, Helen Powers, Barb Musselman, Ruth Anne Demarco, Anita Miller, Candace Metcalf, Bob North, Mike Ryan and Barbara Beck. She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Hazel Fulford and cousins, Elaine Metcalf and David Metcalf. Gwen graduated from Jackson High School and went on to a career as a Statistical Typist and worked at Gilbert/Commonwealth Inc. of Michigan and Consumers Energy Company in Jackson, Michigan, until she retired at 65 years of age. For many years she was a member of Wall Street Baptist Church and later Cascades Baptist Church, where she was a devoted and gifted Pre-School Sunday School Teacher and Director of the Beginners Department. Above all else, she was committed to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and will be remembered for her love and encouragement to others through her words and actions, and by the many notes and cards she sent to family and friends over her lifetime. She loved to read, make photo albums of family memories and participate in outings with others. Gwen’s interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Monday, November 30, 2020, at 2:00 P.M.
