Gwen Alison (Fisher) Olds

Gwen Alison Olds, 64, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025 in Jackson, Michigan. She was a
shining light to most people she met in this world. From helping friends deal with their own cancer
diagnosis or medical issue, to those dealing with depression, to those grieving their own loss. Her time
and attention were invaluable to those she assisted.
Gwen was born in 1960 in Detroit, Michigan. She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years John L.
Olds; sister Leslie Traxler; step-son Julian Olds and wife Rebecca (Arriero), grandchildren Kane Olds and
Valentina Olds; and step child Kenny Olds. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Fisher and
Mary Jacqueline Fisher (Sanger); brother Keith Fisher and previous husband John Park.
Gwen worked a long career with Michigan Bell/AT&T and US Com in Jackson, Michigan, retiring in 2002.
She enjoyed gardening, crafting and traveling (preferably to warm locations).
She was always there for her friends as a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, or a guiding presence. She
worked an extended stint on disaster relief in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
According to her request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date,
location to be determined.
