Gregory Joseph Wilson

Gregory (Greg) J. Wilson, of Jackson, MI, loving husband of 64 years to his Sweetie Pie, Maureen, died peacefully in the presence of his family on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the age of 85. He is the brother of Lee Wilson of Tucson, AZ and Joe Wilson of Medina, OH; father of Cathy Taylor (Scott), Susie (Daniel Noel), Patty Miles (Jim), Nancy, and Alison Walczak (Joe); grandfather of Jenny Miles, Susie Miles (Richie), Mike Taylor, Rebecca Miles Lantzy, Stef Taylor, Erica Taylor, Catherine Noel, Andrew Walczak, Juliette Noel, Thomas Miles, Lindsay Walczak, Isabelle Miles, Mary Therese Miles, and Marie Walczak; great-grandchildren Brendan, Eric, Nathan, Ellie, and Maddie; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Stanley, and sisters-in-law Barbara and Terry.  Greg loved his faith, his family, and fixing things. He was a daily mass goer who you could find reading at St. Mary’s during the week. He loved the Holy Spirit and was a man of service to all. There wasn’t a problem he couldn’t solve by sleeping on it. He was an aeronautical engineer who in his retirement loved to bake pies and cookies for his family, friends, and church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 12:00pm with Father Timothy Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Shrine Cemetery in Brooklyn, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for masses and to the Coming Home Network International, P.O. Box 8290, Zanesville, OH 43702.  The family will receive friends at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 4:00-7:00pm with Recitation of the Rosary at 6:30pm, and at the church on Friday from 11:30am until the time of mass.
