Greggery Williams Obituary

Greggery R. Williams, Age 62, from Jackson, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Gregg was the son of Richard Cole Williams and Carole Sue Brown, born on May 14, 1962 in Lafayette, Indiana.

He is survived by his children, Haley (Alex) Ketchum and Tanner (Michael) Williams; grandchildren, Scarlett and Chandler Ketchum; Brothers, Jeff (Susan) Williams of Dallas, Texas; Shawn Williams of Jackson, Michigan, step-brother, Bob (Noreen) Brown of Jackson, Michigan and step-sister, Sheri (Ron) Westafer, of Mesa, Arizona; nephews, Nick Williams, Jake (Toni) Williams, and nieces, Londyn and Aislyn Williams. Gregg loved playing golf and spending time with his best friend who he met in the United States Air Force, John (Cindy) McFadden of Fairview, Texas. Skiing in Europe and playing golf at Pebble Beach are two of Gregg’s favorite memories with John. Gregg was married to Valerie (Dawson) Williams for 33 years. They still shared a great friendship and cared for one another until Greggs passing. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Williams.

Gregg was a graduate of Concord High School class of 1980. He was a high school basketball referee for over 30 years and was a high school football referee for 5 years. He loved his country and he was honored to serve in the United States Air Force.

Gregg loved the game of golf. Marshall Country Club was one of his favorite courses. Gregg sure loved his Spartys and enjoyed going to many Michigan State football games with friends. He loved the Detroit Tigers baseball and most importantly, the Detroit Lions. He was most proud to be called Papa by his two granddaughters. He always told anyone he talked to, how proud he was of his kids, Haley and Tanner. Gregg enjoyed bonfires, playing euchre and playing marbles (finkster) with friends and family. Gregg was always driving a spotless clean car; he loved washing his car and had been caught taking his car through the wash, daily.

Gregg was a kind man who enjoyed talking to anyone.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at Watson Funeral Chapel – 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson, Michigan on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 5:00-8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Gregg’s honor to Veteran’s Affairs -1715 Lansing Ave # 689, Jackson, MI 49202
