Gertrude Louise (Vore) Snyder

Snyder, Gertrude Louise went home to be with her Lord and Savior May 16, 2021, faithfully, lovingly, and at peace as she lived.  Born April 26, 1926 to Dr. Hugh and Edith Vore (Aylard) of Hammond, Indiana. She married Clarence Albert Snyder (deceased January 9, 2009) on December 19, 1946 and graduated with a teacher’s degree from Greenville College in 1947. In 1956, she and Al, with their 3 children and 1 to follow, left for Africa for what would be a lifelong career together in medical missions. She was, in the course of her long life, a musician, athlete, artist, teacher, gardener who above all will be remembered for her amazing hospitality as she received family, friends, and visitors from all over the world.

She is survived by her 3 cherished siblings, Dr. Bob Vore (The late Mary Ann Vore), Mrs. Ellen Snyder (Harold), and Mrs. Clarice Dodge (The late Wesley Dodge), her 4 loving sons, Dr. Glenn Snyder (Kamilia), Dr. Bob Snyder (Alice), Mr. Steve Snyder and Dr. Dan Snyder (Dee Ann), 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and very dear friends.

Memorial celebrations of her life will continue in the coming years as family and friends unite in sharing the great heritage she left us.

Due to Covid-19 Restrictions, a private family service will be held on Monday, May 31, 2021 at 11:00am.
