Gerald Ray Brown

Our loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at his home Sunday, January 21, 2024.
Gerald was born March 16, 1937 in Marshall, MI the son of Leonard & Jane Brown. He along with his father, were founding members of the Jackson County Sheriff Mounted Division; he was a volunteer fireman; and was Deputy with the Sheriff Dept. in Parma in the 1960’s. He began his career working with his father in a machine shop. He worked as a machinist and later a Forman with Acme, Bohn Heat Transfer, F.P. Miller, before retiring from Dawn Foods. He was an avid cowboy, enjoying rodeos. collecting revolvers. He was an avid collector of Fenton Glass, and always loved hunting.
Surviving are his 6 children, Mark Brown, Mary (Paul) McCoy, Jeff Brown, Tim (Barb) Brown, Larry (Dawn) Brown, and Rick Brown (Jeff Keel); 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Roger Brown; many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Brown in 2014; his parents; sister, Carol Bowen.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Parma, 10661 W. Michigan Ave., Parma, MI 49269. Gerald will be laid to rest at Chapel Cemetery next to his wife. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Henry Ford Hospice in memory of Gerald Brown.
