George Frederick Underhill, Jr., of Jackson, MI, died on Monday, March 11, 2024, after several months of health complications. He was 93 years. George was born on August 3, 1930, to George and Mildred Underhill in Fairfield Twp, Lenawee County. He was the fourth child of six, including Mildred, Cary, Beulah, Lee, and Ruth. George attended Adrian High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. Upon returning from service, George married his first wife, Dolores, in Adrian, MI, and they moved to Jackson in 1987, for George to advance his accounting career with American Chain & Cable. After a few years, Dolores lost her battle with a chronic illness. In 1991, George met his second wife, Wanetta, and they remained happily married for over 30 years until her passing June 30, 2022. Having no children with his first marriage, his second marriage blessed George with five stepchildren, Shirley, Mike, John, Lori, and Chris, several grandchildren, and then soon several great-grandchildren. George and Wanetta spent their retirement years caring for and spoiling their great-grandchildren, Morgan and Keegan, tending to their gardens, lunch dates with friends, and devoting their time to their numerous dogs. George enjoyed word working and jigsaw puzzles.
