George Milton Kaliman, age 87, of Jackson passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 11, 2021, surrounded by family. George, born on December 8, 1933, was the son of Emmerick and Catherine Kaliman. George was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Sheila Kaliman in 2016. George is survived by his six children Roger (Natalie), Scott (Yoly), Mark (Joanne), Brian, Louise, and Michael (Penny); his thirteen grandchildren, Jessica, Lindsay, Cassie, Shayne, Kayla, Nate, Aiden, Kevyn, Allyson, Eric, Madeline, Alec, and Sean; and his three great grandchildren, Faith, Hope, and Brantley.
George was a graduate of The University of Michigan (Dearborn). George also proudly served in the US Army for several years in the 1950’s where he was stationed in Germany. He retired from Consumers Power after a distinguished career as a civil engineer and lived the remainder of his life in Jackson. George devoted his life to being with his family. He enjoyed playing games with family and friends especially Euchre, Pinochle and Bingo. He was an avid fan of the Detroit and University of Michigan sports teams.
George’s family will receive visitors and friends at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson, MI on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 4:00 - 6:00pm and on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson, MI on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 11:00am. Interment will take place at Roseland Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital will be appreciated.
