George Bartell Obituary

George E. Bartell, Age 84, passed away at home with family after battling chronic health issues.

He was born August 27, 1941 in Hillsdale, Michigan to George and Lillian (Doty) Bartell.

George was a Graduate of Jackson High School and spent many years working for Clark Equipment, and retired from Jackson County Road Commission.  He was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather. George was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing, however, his greatest joy and pride was his family.   

George is survived by his wife, Gay (Larson) Bartell; his daughters, Cindy (Stephen) Kontowicz, and Laurie (Charles) Dunigan; his grandsons, Brad (Heather) Devereaux, and their children, Othon, and Georgia; Charlie (Bethany) Dunigan, and their children, Henry and Rosalie; Thomas (Brittany) Devereaux; Dustin Dunigan; and Tobin (Abby) Dunigan, and their children, Winifred, Maxine, and Fitzgerald; Five sisters and one brother; Special family members, Paul and Rita Larson; and Special friends, Brian and Kay Devereaux. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, and great-granddaughter, Raelee Devereaux. 

The family would like to share a special thank you to Cassandra from Elara Caring Hospice for her care. 

Per the request of his family, there will be no formal services.  The family requests that you remember George in your own way and feel free to share those memories in cards or letters to the family.
