Of Concord, MI, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the age of 58. He was the son of Robert Duane and Helen Marie (Brewster) Manthei born April 7, 1960 in Jackson, MI. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Rosina (Pellegrino) Manthei; his daughter, Lisa (Ian) Reed and their son James Michael Reed; his parents; three brothers, Robert Manthei Jr., Donald Manthei, and Richard Manthei; sister, Joanne (Steve) Canen; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; countless friends, and his special hunting buddies, “The Concord Cripplers”. Gary was a 1978 Concord High School graduate. He owned and operated a family business for 20 years. Currently worked at Jimmie’s Towing for 19 years. Gary was a “Jack of all trades and a master of none”, as he stated many times. He was a life member of The Concord Cripplers and Ducks Unlimited. He dearly loved spending time with family especially his grandson, James. He was an avid hunter and a fan of the Michigan Wolverines. A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM, Michael D. Mason officiating, interment Horton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
The family will receive friends at Watson Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 27, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
