Gary Gundy

Gundy, Gary Lemoine, of Jackson, MI passed away into the Lord’s presence on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at the age of 81.

He was born on December 4, 1943 in Lake City, MI to Israel and Donna Gundy who preceded him in death.  He attended Lake City Area Schools and then graduated from Hanover Horton Schools in 1962.  He married Carol (Lemmon) Gundy on July 20, 1968.   They were married for 53 years until her death on April 1, 2022.

Gary is survived by his three sons, Michael Gundy, Christopher (Brandy) Gundy of Jackson, MI; Stephen (Kim) Gundy of Granger, IN; seven grandchildren, David, Philip, and Alexis Gundy all of Jackson; Daniel (Amanda) Gundy of Kentwood, MI; Aubri (Trent) Repass of Fishers, IN, Bryce Gundy of Granger, IN, and Austin (Jenna) Bentley of McCordsville, IN; and one great-granddaughter, Lily Mae Bentley; sister, Marjorie Mitts of Spring Arbor, MI; brother-in-law, John (Sherry) Lemmon of Jackson, MI; sister-in-law, Norma Steinbacher of Port Angeles, WA and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gary was a successful salesman.  His sales experience included auto parts, automobiles, Cessna aircraft, and insurance.  Most notable, he worked for Bob Blunt Chevrolet, Barker-Weber, and Jack Smith Agencies, and the Auto Merchants.  He was a member of Bethel Church in Jackson, where over the years, he served as a deacon, financial secretary/treasurer, head usher, youth leader, and in small group bible studies.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Services will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Bethel Church, 1691 Springport Rd., Jackson with Pastor Jordan Napier officiating.   Visitation will be at 11:00 am Saturday until service time.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary’s memory may be made to Bethel Church.  The family expresses their appreciation to the staff at Cascade Senior Care Center in Jackson for their excellent care of Gary.  Arrangements by Watson Funeral Chapel.
