Garwood “Gary” S. Gillian, 87, of Jackson, MI. peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Cascade Senior Care Center.
He was born on January 1, 1939 in Bowling Green, OH. to the late Sid Gillian and Erdine Amos.
Gary proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 24 years and retired as a Master Chief Radioman (RMCM). He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Jackson and belonged to the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his long-time companion of 24 years, Jean Rendall. He is also survived by 4 children: Michael (Audrey) Gillian, Patricia (Joe) Rodriquez, Shannon “Joe” (Paula) Gillian, and Terri (Jake) Schlegel, and 13 grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his neighbor and friend, Sherry and Ed Piper for looking after Gary, as well as the staff at Cascade Senior Care Center.
