Frederick "Jack" Strickrodt

Frederick (JACK) Jackson Strickrodt, age 83 of Rives Junction, MI passed away on Saturday May 3, 2025, under the care of Hartland Hospice.

Son of Frederick Jackson and Clara Gertrude Strickrodt, Born June 2, 1941, in Jackson, Michigan.

Jack is survived by his wife Carolyn Eunice Strickrodt of 44 years and Step-Daughter Kimberly (Roger) VanOrder of Jackson, MI., Grandchildren Hannah Townsend of Bakersfield, CA.; Travis VanOrder of Traverse City, MI.; Michael Townsend of Bakersfield, CA; Kayla (Thomas) Wright of Homer, MI.; Joshua Townsend of Bakersfield, CA.; Sevannah (Joseph) Spencer of Jackson, MI.; Kolton Townsend Ives of Jackson, MI.; and Issabella Townsend of Concord, MI.; Great Grandchildren Ian 15; Axel 15; Bella 12; Patrick 10; Conor 8; Amelia 8; Ariel 7; Jovie 5; Stella 5; Ahren 5; Henry 4; Luca 2; Lewis 1; and Mia 8 months. Jack is survived by his sister Sandra Kay Sherman and many loving In-Laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jack is preceded in death by his infant son; son Scott Jackson Strickrodt; step-son Richard Michael Townsend; father Frederick Jackson Strickrodt; mother Clara Gertrude Strickrodt (Nichols); and sister Marion Alvina Lawson.

Jack graduated from Jackson High School and served his country for 20 years in the United States Army active and reserves. Jack worked as a salesman for many years at Murphy Trucking Company and Ford Motor Company and retired after many years of service.

Jack was an avid sportsman of the Parma Outdoor Club. He also loved fishing, golf, hunting, racing cars, and outdoor activities. He especially loved mowing his yard.

A celebration of life will be held at Watson Funeral Chapel - 2590 Spring Arbor Road Jackson, MI 4903 on Friday May 9, 2025 with Pastor Cory Doiron, officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until the time of service beginning at 1:00pm.  

Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park 1425 N. Elm Ave Jackson, MI 49202
