Frederick Marshall Obituary

Frederick Lyman Marshall

Jackson, Michigan

Frederick was born Feb. 27, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, and died May 22, 2026.  He is preceded in death by his brother, Marty F. Marshall and parents, George and Doris Marshall.  Fred graduated from Start High School in Toledo, Ohio in 1966, and the University of Toledo in 1970, with a degree in chemistry. He married his wife, Deborah (Franklin) on April 5, 1975, and fathered a son, James, on August 27, 1980.  He worked for many years at Jackson Iron & Metal Company, and later became a hobby farmer.  He was an Eagle Scout, and a member of the Dahlem Conservancy, The Jackson Audubon Society, The Ella Sharp Museum, and the Pressing Iron & Trivet Collectors of America.  He was also a member of the Universalist Unitarian Church of East Liberty and Temple Beth Israel.  In addition, he was a former member of the Jackson PFLAG.  Fred was a loving and patent husband and father.  He enjoyed travelling, river cruises, listening to audio books, and rafting on Clark Lake.   He was extremely proud of his son James Marshall’s classical music talent.  He also loved his various animals, science, and nature.  He is survived by his wife, Deborah and his son, James and his son-in-law, Adam Bundy.  He will be sorely missed.
