Frances Josephine Murray

Frances Josephine Murray of Jackson, our loving mother and aunt, was called home to her Lord on Monday, August 21, 2023 at the age of 87.  She was born October 14, 1935 in Ida Mae, West Virginia the daughter of Frank and Virgina Mazur.  Frances graduated from Jackson High School.  She retired from Sam’s Iron and Metal as the bookkeeper with 30 years of service.  She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Jackson.  She liked flower gardening and cooking.

Frances is survived by her son, John F. Murray; brother, John (Lorraine) Mazur; caregivers and special nieces Donna Southworth and Katherine Zimmer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lawrence Murray; her parents; sister, Mary Theresa Burke; and an infant brother.

A celebration of Frances’ life will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 24, 2023 in the Watson Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Rd, Jackson, MI 49203 with Deacon Dave Etters presiding.  Interment will be later at St. John’s Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to Elara Caring Hospice in memory of Frances.
