Elaine Marie Grugel

Elaine (Zlotorzynski) Grugel, age 71, of Jackson, MI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of and preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Cecelia (Jurewicz) Zlotorzynski, grandparents and Peggy Leach.  Elaine is survived by daughters, Kristen (Jason) Grugel, and Kelly Staudinger; significant other, Bob Leach and his children, Brett (Cherry) Leach, Alex (Brian) Gaarde, and Devin (Jordan) Grohoski; Bob’s father, Dennis Leach; grandchildren, Emma, Grady, Drake, Riley, Aiden, Julian, and Ford; brothers, Gary Zlotorzynski, Ed (Charlene) Zlotorzynski; and sister, Cheryl (Fred) Nicely; niece, Leyna (Matt) Abro, and their children; and numerous cousins and special friends. Elaine graduated from Lumen Christi High School in 1971. She worked for Aeroquip/Eaton for over 30 years and recently for PC Solutions. Elaine enjoyed life to the fullest by spending time at Clark Lake, the casino, watching Hallmark, cooking for her family, traveling, concerts, volunteering at Henry Ford gift shop and John George Home, attending her grandkids’ events, Michigan State athletics and visiting the Nicely farm. She was proud of her Polish heritage, her family and especially her grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stanislaus Chapel, 608 South Elm, Jackson, MI on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 10:00am with Father Timothy Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 3:00-7:00pm with a scripture service at 6:30pm.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dianna and Allen Hueber; owners of PC Solutions, for their generosity and support. We would also like to thank the healthcare workers who cared for her throughout her entire battle with cancer, and Bob Leach who provided unconditional love and infinite care for Elaine.
