Edwin Lawrence Rainey

On July 27, 2020, Ed Rainey, 78, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  He married the love of his life, Sherry, and they enjoyed 52 years together.  Ed was born May 13, 1942 to Gifford and Dorothy Rainey.  He lived his whole life in the Hanover-Horton area.  He loved the small-town, easy farm life of the area.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time in the U.P. of Michigan and hunting with his son.  Being outdoors always put a smile on his face.  He was Traffic Manager at Melling Tool Company and retired after 42 years of service.  He is survived by Sherry; son Thomas (Lisa); and granddaughters Sierra and Breck of Downingtown, PA; brothers James and Dennis; preceded in death by sister Jeanne Donaldson.  A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.  Our thanks to Allegra Nursing and Elara Hospice for their excellent care.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Hanover-Horton Area Historical Society, 101 Fairview, Hanover, MI 49241.
