Obituary

Edward “Butch”, age 75, went to meet Jesus and his joyful family on May 11, 2023.  Eddie was born August 13, 1947 in Jackson, MI.  He graduated from Parkside High School and at age 19 was drafted into the Army, where he served one year in Vietnam.  He and Peggie hadn’t even celebrated their one month wedding anniversary yet when he was shipped out to Fort Hood, Texas.  They had married on July 30, 1966 and this year would have been their 57th wedding anniversary.  After two years in the service, he returned home and they bought a home where they have lived for 55 years this coming November.  He was hired into Goodyear Tire & Rubber where he was employed for 14 years, deciding against the move to Tennessee.  He had various part time jobs to replace Goodyear including: working on cars, custodian at the church they attended, Wells National who serviced the TV’s at Foote Hospital, and driving mail truck for Taylor Postal Contracting.  Eventually the mail route became full time and he worked there for 23 years when an accident occurred on his route returning to Jackson and he became 100% disabled because of the injuries to his lung.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward S. and Martha Jean Anderson; his sister, Martha Jean and brothers, Richard and John Anderson.  He is survived by his wife, Peggy and their sweet little toy poodles, Bellamee and Adrianna; sister, Patricia Lewis; brothers, Jerry (Bev) Anderson, and Robert Anderson; half brother, Bob Booth; and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.  He was a very special man who was loved and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  He was always there for his wife and he treated her like a queen.  He will be missed!

A celebration of his life will be held at the JaxNaz Church, 3905 Clinton Rd., Jackson, MI at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 17, 2023 with Rodney Skinner officiating.   Viewing will be from 12-1 P.M. Wednesday at church.  Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 16 at the Watson Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Rd, Jackson, MI.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the JaxNaz Church in memory of Edward.
