Ed was born July 31, 1934, in Indianapolis to Dorothy and Edward Browning. He attended schools in Indianapolis and Kalamazoo and earned degrees from Western Michigan and the University of Michigan. He served in the Army for two years and was then employed as a research engineer for Consumers Power for 29 years. Ed was a member of MSPE, Toastmasters and the Jackson Civic Art Association. He enjoyed performing as a clarinetist with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, the Jackson French Quarter Band, many community bands and the Jackson Chamber Ensemble. Ed also enjoyed a game of golf and a good joke. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Joanne and Pat, and his first wife, Gail. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; son David, grandchildren Jordan and Bryce; daughter Martha (Peter); grandchildren Grace and Charlotte (Day); great grandchildren Lillith and Beau, son Jeffrey (Rebecca); grandchildren Jacob, Josephine, and Julia; his loving in-laws; nieces, nephews, and good friends.
