Dr. Todd Eric Young

Dr. Todd Eric Young of Jackson, MI, joined our Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 22, 2019 in what we can only imagine for him is a heavenly version of The Big House and Lambeau Field combined. He was the son of Keith and Connie Young, born February 19, 1978 in Flint, MI. He leaves behind his parents; brother, Kyle (Amy) Young; sister, Tasha (Carl) Price; nieces and nephews, Kylie, Braydon, Robert, Brenden, and Hope; his grandma, Lorraine Young. A whole passel of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and his tribe of friends. Todd was preceded in death by his aunt, Dorothy Schaal; his grandparents, James and Helen Carpenter, and grandfather, Lawrence Young.

Todd graduated from Ferris State University in 2007 after earning his Doctorate in Pharmacy. He enjoyed being part of his community by working for Weatherwax Pharmacies. He wanted, as a pharmacist, to do more than just pass out medications. He was a trusted advisor to people, helping them with their medication needs. Over the course of 41 years Todd lived a fuller life than most. He made friends everywhere he went and never turned down an invitation. Whether it be taking a road trip across the USA, tubing down the river, or attending a U of M football game he was always up for an adventure and those lucky enough to join him were guaranteed a great time. He was the heartbeat of any function. He kept the room alive and buzzing with his presence and crazy sense of humor. He loved his annual family camping trips, and his Halloween parties were always a delight with Todd’s creative costumes. Todd will be remembered for his warm, social nature, his quick wit, and his profound knowledge of all things. He took life-changing setbacks in stride. When faced with the seemingly insurmountable task of needing a new heart, he put in the hard work to get on the transplant list. While many people in his position may have given up and accepted fate, he didn’t. He even doubled down and registered as an organ donor so that even in death he could provide life to others. That was just part of The Legend that was Dr. Todd Eric Young, and we were all blessed to have had him as part of our lives. According to family wishes cremation has taken place.

A celebration of Todd’s life will be held at the New Horizons Community Church, 4300 Lansing Ave., Jackson, MI 49201 on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00am with Pastor Jerry Lyon officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of Todd may be made to Gift of Life.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 12:00-4:00pm and 5:00-8:00pm and on Saturday from 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
