Douglas Mitchell Obituary

Of Jackson, Michigan passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the age of 62. Doug was the son of Jerry A. and Lorraine T. (Vogt) Mitchell, born August 10, 1957 in Jackson, Michigan. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Tracy (Turner) Mitchell; two children, Matthew Mitchell and Megan (Brent) Kuntz; step-son, Andy Cox; two grandchildren, Michael and Ryan Kuntz; his mother and step-father, Fred Ford-Smith; two brothers, Andrew (Sheila) Mitchell and Mark (Amy) Mitchell; sister-in-law, Peggy Mitchell; niece, Anne Mitchell; two nephews, Drew and Mason Mitchell; numerous friends. Doug was preceded in death by his father and brother, Cameron Mitchell. Doug was a Lumen Christi High School graduate. He was self-employed for over 40 years in the laundry business. He was a member of the Titan Club and the Grotto Club. Doug was an avid golfer and sports fan. He dearly loved spending time with his family and many friends. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 11:00am, Michael D. Mason officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Doug may be made to the charity of choice.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service.
