Douglas Marsh, age 87, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away January 11, 2025. He was born May 29, 1937, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Frederick and Bessie Marsh. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Betty (Black), and his sons Russ (Becky) Marsh, Greg (Beth) Marsh, and Jamie (Junko) Marsh, granddaughter Libby Marsh, grandson John (Katie) Marsh, great-granddaughter Charlotte Marsh, and extended family, including numerous nephews and nieces and their spouses and children, stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
Doug grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan, and attended Michigan State University. He worked for over 40 years at AAA of Michigan in travel and insurance and retired in 1999. He coached and followed his sons and grandchildren in all manner of sports, and enjoyed golf, travel, and watching Michigan State and Detroit sports. He was a loving husband and father, a loyal friend and generous to a fault. He had an irreverent sense of humor that often left those around him with a laugh or a smile. Doug was a person of strong personal integrity and responsibility, who always put his family first.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Locke, sister, Barbara Roberts, twin brother, Donald Marsh, and brother, Fredrick Marsh, Jr.
The Celebration of Doug's Life will be from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Cascade Manor House, 1970 Kibby Road, Jackson, MI 49203. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to your favorite charity in Doug’s name.
