Dorothy Elizabeth Beck

Dorothy Elizabeth Beck of Jackson, MI passed away at home under the loving care of her daughters on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the age of 86. She was the daughter of Merrill and Dorothy (Andrews) Mather, born July 6, 1935 in Albion, Michigan. Dorothy is survived by four children, Michelle, Dale (Karolyn), Marcey, and Craig (Abby); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Duane (Donna) Mather.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Lloyd Beck; her parents; one sister; and one brother.

Dorothy was a member of Ganson Street Baptist Church for 49 years and served as Deaconess. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking, the arts, and had many longtime friends. Dorothy loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at Ganson Street Baptist Church, 637 W. Ganson Street, Jackson, MI 49201 on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 11:00 am with Reverend Allen Grover officiating.  Interment will take place following the service at Bosworth Cemetery in Olivet, MI at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ganson Street Baptist Church, 637 W. Ganson Street., Jackson, MI 49201.

The family will receive friends at Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 pm and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
