Doris Field Obituary

Our loving mother peacefully went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 17, 2025, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She was 96 years old.  Born May 15, 1928 in Bellevue, Michigan the daughter of Opal & Loren Bradley.  Doris had a warm smile, contagious laugh and a sweet caring spirit that would light up a room.  She was a skilled sewist making quilts for family and also charitable donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for several years.  She loved music and dancing with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was an active member of Northeast Missionary Church for several years.  Her career included working at Sparton Electronics and Loud & Jackson where she served customers and assisted in making the ice cream. She then worked at Meijer where even after retiring, was asked to consider coming back to work (which she did), working an additional 4 years.  Her greatest love was caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren.  Her extended family, friends, former co-workers, and neighborhood children (now adults) all dearly loved Doris.

Doris is survived by her 4 children, Daniel (Therese) Field, Philip (Ginger) Field, Sheryl McCormick, and Tammy (Manni) Redeker; 14 grandchildren, Michelle Surber, Elizabeth Kerns, Danielle McCravey, Amy (Kevin) Watkins, Chris (Haley) Field, Nick (Lauren) Field, Kyle (Stephanie) Field, David (Michelle) McCormick, Derek (Peggy) McCormick, Jeff (Stacy) McCormick, Jason (Deanna) Field, Steven (Anna) Redeker, Jaymon (Kia) Field, and Ashley Field; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Katherine VanGieson; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Seldon “Pat” Field; son, Jan Field; son-in-law, Dave McCormick; son, Loren Field; daughter, Pamala Field; her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Charles H. & Irene Bradley.
