Of Jackson, MI went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home at the age of 85. He was born February 27, 1935 in Toledo, OH. Don is survived by his wife of 60 years, Delores; daughters, Cynthia, Aletha, Dana, and Jennifer; grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle, Alex, Andrew, Taylor, Trystin, and Tessa; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Logan, Jamison, and Zoey; siblings, Ron, Betty, Pat, Robyn, Robin, and Bonnie; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends and Cascades Baptist Church family. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Gene, Tom, and Lola. Don served his country proudly and honorably in the United States Army as a Private 1st Class from 1958-1960. He worked for Melling Tool where he retired on March 1, 1997. Don was a member of the Cascades Baptist Church. He enjoyed drawing, singing and playing guitar, gardening, church activities, fishing, nature, and working outdoors. Don loved most of all playing with his children and grandchildren. A private family service will be held and inurnment at Hillcrest Memorial Park will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cascades Baptist Church or Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home.
