Deborah Lynn Roush

Deborah Lynn Roush, age 71, went home to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. She was born at Camp Gordon, GA to Dean and Beverly Orth on June 11, 1953. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Donald Dwayne Roush, Jr.; her children, Andrew Roush, Teresa (Ken) Schuster, Jeff (Lori) Roush, Amy (John) Fein, and David (Laura) Roush; her grandchildren whom she adored, Jennifer (Patrick) Ryback, Ryley Schuster, Joshua Schuster, Jacob Schuster, Emma Roush, Alexia Roush, Anna Fein, Matthew Fein, Sarah Schuster, Tim Roush, Adam Fein, Katie Roush, Abby Fein, and Ellie Fein; and her siblings Wendy (George) Whaley, Marie (Kenyon) Shane, Marylea Mitchell, and Paul (Susanne) Orth. She had many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Beverly Orth; her brother, Donald Orth; and many loving family members.

Debbie graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1971, and then went on to study at Olivet College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Spring Arbor College in 1980. She worked for Catholic Social Services and then Consumers Energy until she retired to care for her husband when he was forced to retire from the military due to health reasons. She loved God, America, the Green Bay Packers, flamingos, music, and her flower gardens. Most of all, she loved her family. She would always put everyone else’s well-being ahead of her own. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, July 26th from 5-7 pm at Watson’s Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson, MI 49203.  A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 27th at 11:00am at The Arbor Church, 120 E. Main Street, Spring Arbor, MI 49283.  Interment will take place on Monday, July 29th at 2:00 pm at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI 49012.
