David Henry Pickett

Of Jackson, MI went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the age of 75. He was the son of Richard and Barbara Pickett, born April 19, 1948 in Jackson, MI. David is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Bonnie Pickett; his son, Devin (Kimberly) Pickett; two grandchildren, Brennan and Brinley Pickett; sister, Janet; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Terri. David served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He worked and retired after 20 years from USF Holland as a truck driver. He loved to fish with his grandson at Pine Hill Lake and ride rides at amusement parks with his grandchildren. David was a handyman and could fix or build anything. He had an infectious laugh and the sound would light up the room. David was a devoted Christian and dedicated most of his time to his church, Jackson Free Methodist, with helping in various programs and activities and was a member of the Band of Brothers. He was a very gifted musician playing the drums. David loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Jackson Free Methodist Church, 2829 Park Drive, Jackson, MI on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson Free Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 5:00-7:00pm and at the church from 12:00pm until the time of service at 1:00PM
