David Leroy Goulette

David Leroy Goulette, age 88 of Jackson, Michigan went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Summit Park Assisted Living Center.  He was the son of Leroy and Charlotte Goulette born on January 2, 1934 in Rogers City, MI.  He is survived by his wife Sondra (Alexander) Goulette of 65 years; 3 children Denise (Ron) Berry, Stephen Goulette and Daniel (Kathleen) Goulette; 5 grandchildren Ryan Goulette, Marcie (Drew) Gumieny, Megan (Zach) Goulette Smith, Sarah Berry and Andrea Goulette; 3 great-grandchildren Jackson Clay, Archer Gumieny and Beau Gumieny; sister Delphine Liberato and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Diane Tulgestke.

David graduated from Rogers City High School in 1952.  He then received the Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1956 from Michigan Technological University.  He retired from Commonwealth Associates in Jackson, MI after 40 years as a professional registered engineer in 7 states and was one of the founding members of the new Commonwealth Associates established in 1996.  He enjoyed 26 years of retirement, 19 of which were spent wintering in Sun Village in Surprise, Arizona.  While in Arizona, he was involved in many activities especially his favorite sport of golf.  He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and was always true to his faith.  He enjoyed his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of his life on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3637 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson, MI with Pastor Zach Holdorf officiating.  Interment will follow the service at St. John Catholic Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
