Darlene Joyce Baker passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025 in Edmore, Michigan. Darlene was, born to Lowel and Florence (Wilbur) Baker on 2/19/1940 in Jackson, Michigan. Darlene graduated from Jackson High School in Jackson, Mi in 1957.
Darlene was proceeded in death by her parents and her older brother, Lowel Baker Jr. She and Lowel were close as adults. They were neighbors in Jackson and when she moved later to AZ, he followed her and lived nearby there as well. They enjoyed spending time together whether playing card games or just visiting with friends. She was also proceeded in death by her foster daughter, Barbie Schort. She was deeply saddened at this loss.
Darlene was quite the seamstress in her younger years making a lot of her own clothing, even making a suit for her brother. She liked to knit and to make ceramics also.
Darlene was a one of a kind. She had a big heart with room for all. She genuinely cared about the people around her and was an instant friend to everyone she met. She had a fun sense of humor. She loved to laugh but really enjoyed making other’s laugh. She was partial to Chihuahuas and had a few of them for pets that she loved very much.
