Constance "Connie" Rita Bennett

After a brief illness, our Aunt Connie Bennett left this earth on March 13, 2024 to join her beloved husband Richard who she loved deeply and missed dearly. She leaves behind a grieving family including her younger brother, Fred Biedermann; niece, Marilyn (Chuck) DeBruler, Eric (Rebecca) Biedermann, and Jeff (Lisa) Biedermann; and many grand and great nieces and nephews.  Connie was proceeded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents, Frederick and Catherine Biedermann; sister-in-law, June Biedermann; and niece, Cathy Anglade. Connie was born is Jackson Michigan and graduated from Jackson High School in 1951. She attended the University of Michigan before starting a career at Polly’s Food Services that spanned 63 years. She worked diligently as an accountant and executive secretary to the owner and family.  Connie loved her job and the people she worked with.  Aunt Connie was very intelligent and caring. Always putting others needs before her own. She was described by everyone who knew her as “the sweetest person you will ever know”. Connie enjoyed crocheting, reading and crossword puzzles. Those close to her called her a walking dictionary. She also enjoyed classical music and played violin in her youth. Connie was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved University of Michigan football.  Before Richard passed in 2006, they enjoyed many adventures traveling throughout the United States. She always spoke fondly of their trip to Hawaii. Until recently, Connie hosted the family on Christmas Eve and it became such a special time for the entire family. Oddly enough, bingo became a family tradition that everyone enjoyed immensely!  Aunt Connie will be missed greatly, but we are thankful she is no longer in pain and in Richard’s arms. A special thanks to Hospice House of Jackson for making her final days comfortable. And a very special thanks to Lisa Biedermann for her unwavering support to Connie and Fred.

Mrs. Bennett is at the Watson Funeral Chapel where services will be held Monday, March 18, 2024 at 12:00pm with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.  Visitation from 11:00am until the time of service.
