Conrad Eckner Ludwig

Conrad Eckner Ludwig of Jackson, MI passed away at Michigan Medicine on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the age 92. Mr. Ludwig was the son of Bruno and Anna Ludwig, born July 21, 1929 in Jackson, MI.  He is survived by three children, Mark (Cheryl) Ludwig, Karen Putman, and Kevin (Ann) Ludwig; seven grandchildren, Ryan Putman, Kristen (Andrew) Willis, Jenna Putman, Eric (Rachel) Ludwig, Abby (Stephen) Schenk, Liesl Ludwig, and Caroline Ludwig; four great-grandchildren, Xavier Ludwig, Benjamin Willis, Eden Willis, and Carter Schenk; and special friends, Mike and Diane Worthing, David Snow, Kevin Putman, and Steve Magee. Mr. Ludwig was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Ann Ludwig; his parents; and sister, Vera Ludwig.

He was a graduate of Jackson High School. Mr. Ludwig served his country honorably and proudly in the United State Army. He worked as an Insurance Agent for Hall and Kennedy where he retired from in 1987. Mr. Ludwig was a member of the Lions Club and St. Johns United Church of Christ. He enjoyed boating, bowling, and spending time at his Lake House. Mr. Ludwig was an avid sports fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers, University of Michigan Football, and NASCAR. He was a heart transplant recipient of almost 26 years.  Mr. Ludwig was loved by many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 12:00pm. Mr. Ludwig will be laid to rest by Patricia at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2469 Woodlake Circle, Suite 100, Okemos, MI 48864 or Cascades Humane Society 1515 Carmen Dr. Jackson, MI 49202. The family will receive from 10:00am until the time of service.
