Connie Jean Voegeli, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother from Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully at Henry Ford Allegiance Health under Hospice care in Jackson, Michigan.
Connie was born to the late Kenneth Hugh Shoemaker and late Thelma Maxine O’Ryon of Jackson, Michigan. Connie is survived by her children Richard (Rick) Lucas of Hillsdale, Michigan, Judy Smith of Traverse City, Michigan, and Terrie Hunt of Deltona, Florida; John’s children, Michael Voegeli of Vandercook Lake and Lauri Gillette of Panama City, Florida; Grandchildren, Thomas (Katherine) Hunt Jr, Ricky Lucas, Nichole (DJ) Lamkey, Shannon Voegeli, Timothy (Carrie) Hunt, Nicholas (Samantha) Smith, Brent Voegeli, and Susan Voegeli; and 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her late husband James Thomas Lucas and John George Voegeli.
Connie was an alumnus of Jackson High School Class of 1956 where she played the flute and performed as a Majorette in the marching band. For many years Connie was a devoted Henry Ford Allegiance Health and Polish Falcons Nest 336 volunteer. Connie was an avid flower gardener and lover of domestic animals and wildlife. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. Connie took joy in extended travels to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with her best friend late Nancy Konopacki and to New Smyrna Beach, Florida with her late husband John Voegeli.

There will be a Celebration of her life on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 12:00pm at Watson Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson, Michigan, with Chaplain Troy Angell officiating. The family will receive friends at 11:00am until the time of service. The family graciously invites you to join them for a luncheon in Connie’s honor.
