Of Concord, MI passed away at home surrounded by family on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the age of 73. He was the son of Dale (Marie) Sinden and Dorothy (Bill) Coppinger, born April 15, 1950 in Hinsdale, IL. Sam is survived by his son, Steve (Brianne) Sinden; daughter, Laurie (Joe) Sinden; and step-daughter, Tiffany McMinn; four grandchildren, Bailey, Rylee, Macy, and Ty Sinden; four brothers, Chuck (Nikky) Sinden, Mike (Pam) Sinden, Rick (Heather) Sinden, and Patrick (Yolanda) Sinden; his former spouse, Heidi Haba; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 8 years, Tammie Sinden; and his parents.
Sam served his country honorably in the United States Marines. Following his service in the military, he served as the Concord Chief of Police for 37 years. After his retirement, he then owned and operated Concord Meats for the past 13 years. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling out West, watching the Lions and MSU Football. He loved to spend time with his family. Sam will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 5:00pm with Michael D. Mason officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jackson County Sherrif Office, Chief Sinden Memorial, 212 W. Wesley Street, Jackson, MI 49201.
The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until the time of service.
