Charity E Brown

Charity Estelle (Keller) Brown, age 91, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and the compassionate staff at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility.

Charity was born on July 30, 1934, to Paul and Mary (Martin) Keller. An only child, she was raised in Jackson,
Michigan, where she graduated from Jackson High School.

Following graduation, Charity began her career as a switchboard operator with Bell Telephone. After the birth of her children, she devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mother, creating a loving home for her family. As her sons grew older, she returned to the workforce as a secretary with State Farm Insurance, where she faithfully served for more than 20 years before retiring.

Charity found joy in knitting, sewing, and volunteering. She will be especially remembered for her deep love of Boston Terriers, whom she affectionately called her "babies." Her dogs were exceptionally well trained, including one who was deaf and learned to respond to sign language. She cherished each of them as a beloved
member of the family.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Theresa) Brown of Jackson, Michigan; Gregory (Patricia) Brown of Lilburn, Georgia; and Mark (Lydia) Brown of Grand Haven, Michigan; eight grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Keller; her beloved husband of 68 years, Dale Duane Brown; her granddaughter, Melissa; and her great-granddaughter, Charlotte.

Charity will be remembered for her unwavering Christian faith, her devotion to her family, her kind and generous spirit, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Her legacy of faith, compassion, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Watson Funeral Chapel – 2590 Spring Arbor Road beginning at 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am, with Michael D. Mason, Officiating. Burial immediately following at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor can be made to Cascade Humane Society and the Jackson County
Medical Care Facility.
