Casimira passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the age of 84 at Cascade Senior Care Center. She was born July 16, 1941 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Casimir and Julia (Niecko) Kakowski. Caz spent most of her life in Albion and graduated from Albion High School in 1959.
Caz was a loving mother and wife. She enjoyed being with her family and her secondary family of her cats and dogs. She loved working in her garden.
Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Dean R. Richardson; children: Diane Everett, Mike (Dallas) Richardson, and Dave (Pastora) Richardson; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Rich (Jeanne) Kakowski; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; Caz also left behind all her many beloved animals.
She was preceded in death by her son, Duane Everett; daughter, Denise Everett; and son, Thomas Richardson; parents, Julia & Gerald Gifford, and Casimir Kakowski; sister, Josephine Simmons; brother, Don Manning.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. She will be buried aside Duane and Denise. In lieu of flowers, donation are to Cascade Humane Society or Muscular Dystrophy Association in her memory. Thanks to Cascade Senior Care Center and Heart to Heart Hospice for all their care of Casimira.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor can be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter.
