Carolyn R Garnett

Carolyn went home to be with Jesus on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the age of 93.  She was born in Jackson, Michigan to Ivan and Sarah Zeller.  She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Garnett; her parents; sister, Marie Reeves and brother William Zeller.  She is survived by her two children, Patricia (Robert) Harbottle and James (Julia) Garnett; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Tonya) Harbottle, Nathan (Alexis) Harbottle, Jessica Harbottle, Sarah (Duane) Cole, Cara (Owen) Ronk, Jena (Will) Bluem, seventeen great grandchildren; sisters Jean (Bill) Koslowski and Joanne (Stanley) Smith; brother Tom (Sharon) Zeller; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carolyn lived in Spring Arbor, Michigan all her life and attended the Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church until her later years when life slowed down for her.  Carolyn's childhood dream was to become a teacher.  So, after graduating Greenville College and Spring Arbor College, she was determined to bring that dream into reality. And so she did.  She enjoyed many years in the classroom and truly loved all her "children." Carolyn also gave many years to teaching children's Sunday School and to giving much of her time and energy to serving in other church activities.  After retiring from teaching, Carolyn enjoyed artwork, flower gardening, entertaining, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.  She passed out love the way she knew would fit each personality.  For many that was sharing with laughter.  Her smile always lit up the room.  She will be missed, but memories keep us close.

The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00pm Tuesday, July 9, 2024 with the sharing of memories starting at 5:00pm at Watson Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson, Michigan 49203.  Friends who wish may send contributions to Henry Ford Hospice Home, 2150 Kingsbrooke Drive, Jackson, Michigan 49202 in memory of Carolyn.
