Gundy, Carol Marie (Lemmon)

Of Jackson, MI went home to with the Lord on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the age of 78.  She was born to Norman and Winnifred Lemmon in Big Rapids, MI.  She attended Lake City Area Schools, Houghton Lake Schools, and graduated from Western High School in 1961.  On July 20,1968, she married Gary L. Gundy and they raised three sons.  In 1973, she attended Select Beauty Academy where she was licensed as a cosmetologist.  Upon completion, she opened her own beauty shop, Her Crowning Glory, which she operated in her home until retiring.  She was a member of Bethe Church in Jackson where, over the years, she served as Deaconess, AWANA Director, and in small group bible studies.

Carol is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gary; sons, Michael and Christopher (Brandy) Gundy of Jackson, MI; Stephen (Kim) Gundy of Granger, IN; grandchildren, Alexis, Daniel, David, and Philip Gundy of Jackson, MI, Aubri and Bryce Gundy of Granger, IN, and Austin Bentley of Fishers, IN; sister, Norma Steinbacher of Port Angeles, WA; brother, John (Sherry) Lemmon of Jackson, MI; step-sister, Judy Jamison of Walla Walla, WA; sister-in-law, Marjorie Mitts of Spring Arbor, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A celebration of Carol’s life will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel Church, 1691 Springport Rd., Jackson with Pastors Ken Pierpont and Leo Cummings officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8 00 P.M. Monday, April 11, and from 10:00-11:00 Tuesday before services all at the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s memory may be made to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice or Bethel Church, Jackson, MI.  The family wishes to thank the aids at Arbor North Semi Assisted Living and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice for Carol’s care.
