Brad Parrott Obituary

Brad Charles Parrott, also known as “Coach P,” age 69, of Parma, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Brad was born on September 20, 1956, in Jackson, Michigan, to the late Bill and Lorraine (Hall) Parrott. He was a proud graduate of Western High School, Class of 1974.

On April 29, 1978, Brad married his high school sweetheart, Vicki (Croad) Parrott. Together they shared 47 years of marriage and built a beautiful life centered around their children, Cory and Wendy, whom they raised with love, dedication and strong values that led them to become the successful adults they are today.

Brad dedicated 38 years of his career to Kellogg Crankshaft, where he served as Plant Manager. Throughout his long and respected tenure, he formed lifelong friendships and was known for his leadership, integrity, and strong work ethic.

In addition to his professional career, Brad served as sexton at Campbell Cemetery for 38 years. He took great pride in caring for the grounds and tending to the cemetery.

Those who knew Brad also knew his love for mowing — whether at the cemetery, around town, or at home, it was something he genuinely enjoyed and took pride in doing well.

Known to many as “Coach P,” Brad devoted 19 years to coaching high school football, baseball, and softball, serving as an assistant coach under many outstanding head coaches. In 1992, alongside Steve Holton and Rick and Cindy Bisonet, Brad helped establish the first youth tackle football league in the Western School District, creating opportunities for countless young athletes. Over the years, he coached and mentored many student athletes, leaving a lasting impact that extended far beyond the field.

Above all else, Brad’s greatest joy was his family. He lived to attend his grandchildren’s events and could always be found proudly cheering them on, whether on the sidelines or in the stands.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lorraine Parrott, his motherinlaw, Wanda Croad and his cherished pets, Lucy and Ray Ray.

Brad is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Vicki Parrott; his beloved children, Cory (Melissa) Parrott and Wendy Hays; his cherished grandchildren, Brody, Preslie, Brooks, Miller, and Marshall, who were the joy of his life and his greatest pride; his brother, Jim (Peggy) Parrott; his sister, Diana (John) Midgley; niece Kelly (Michael) Sheppard; nephews Ryan (Courtney) Parrott and John (Nicole) Midgley.

Brad will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his legacy of dedication, service, mentorship, and unwavering love for family will continue through the many lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life honoring Brad will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Stables, located at 9011 N. Meridian Rd, Pleasant Lake, Michigan 49272.

Per Brad’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parma Western Baseball program.
